RESEARCH POSITIONS at MBG.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics invites applications from outstanding early career research scientists for four independent positions covering the following thematic areas:

  • large scale genome analysis
with emphasis on technological orientation towards microarray analysis or next generation sequencing in combination with bioinformatics.

  • cell biology / developmental biology
with emphasis on technological orientation towards high throughput analysis, fluorescence assisted cell sorting (FACS) or RNAi-mediated knock down technology.

  • protein function
with emphasis on bioimaging-based functional interaction assays such as FRET.

  • genetic modification of model organisms
with emphasis on transgenic and gene-targeting technologies in mouse.

The positions will be open starting July 2010 and will run for an initial 2.5 years with compensation on a competitive national level and prospect on a tenure track position following final evaluation. The successfull candidates are expected to establish dynamic and independently funded research programs in the above mentioned areas, and to assist the build up of related technological core facilities.

Applicants should have a substantial track record in the field of the position for which they apply and must hold at least two years of postdoctoral experience.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics provides a modern research infrastructure with a thematic orientation towards human disease genetics, developmental biology, and cancer research. Candidates should show potential to establish collaborative research strategies with ongoing studies in these fields.

For your application, please email your CV, a list of publications, a short description of future research interests, and the names and contact information of three referees to Dr. Stefan Fuss (stefan.fuss@boun.edu.tr).
